"I am a busy mom of two school-aged kids... so I understand your need for convenience and direction. My goal is to make it easier for you to get the products you need for your daily routine and also the products that will optimize any medical, aesthetic or surgical procedures you undergo."
"I sought out products that not only achieved measurable results but are also safe for long term use - so no parabens - only natural preservatives - and no unnecessary additives or fragrances that can irritate sensitive skin and eyes. Even the shipping materials are recycled and eco-friendly. Larger sizes are available so you can avoid multiple shipments and you can also opt to participate in the refill program." Dr. Cockerham is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. What does that mean? She has subspecialty training and two decades of experience in facial aesthetics, laser and surgical rejuvenation for anti-aging, trauma, cancer and other medical issues such as thyroid eye disease. Ophthalmology, unlike general and facial plastic surgery, has no subspecialty board. Dr. Cockerham's ASOPRS (American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) membership was granted only after submission of a research thesis, and rigorous written and oral board testing.
As an acknowledgement as for her role as educator, Dr. Cockerham has recently been awarded the Senior Achievement award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. For her compassionate bedside manner, she was recently recognized with the Best Doctor award by NBC. She is an Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor at Stanford University where she enjoys teaching residents and organizing the Oculoplastic Surgery Section of the annual Bay Area Ophthalmology Course each summer. Dr. Cockerham has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and a textbook. She is on the medical advisory board for Men's Health and the editorial boards for EyeNet and Ophthalmology Surgery News. Her research interest is inflammation and fibrosis (scar formation).
As an avid innovator, Dr. Cockerham works with a number of companies pursuing exciting advances in the treatment of dermal scars, including being a scar panelist for Renovo and Excalliard. She has also served as a consultant to Activatek and helped develop their electrophoresis masks that provide deeper delivery of skin products to treat hyperpigmentation and scars. Her currently funded research involves translation of eluting stent technology (i.e. cardiac stents) to ophthalmic and dermatologic applications to protect neural function and minimize scar formation.
